Tour de l’Ain and Ain Bugey Valromey Tour 2024
16 July 2023

Due to the holding of the Olympic and Paralympic Games in France in August 2024, the calendar of French professional races has been modified. Accordingly, the French Professional Cycling League is proposing to bring forward the date on which the Tour de l’Ain – Solimut Mutuelle de France will be held to Saturday 13th, Sunday 14th and Monday 15th of July 2024.

This second weekend in July is traditionally taken up in the Ain cycling season by the Ain Bugey Valromey Tour. The two organizers, Alpes Vélo for the Tour de l’Ain and Tour Valromey Organisation for the Ain Bugey Valromey Tour, have agreed to meet before the end of September 2023 to draw up a coherent sporting program that will respect the specific characteristics of each event.

After validation of the season’s calendar by the Union Cycliste Internationale, the routes of the two events will be presented before the end of 2023. These provisions are valid for the year 2024, and TVO will regain full enjoyment of the dates on the UCI junior calendar that have been theirs since 2007, starting in 2025.
